Hi there, I'm Monica. In the daytime, I'm a work/life reporter for HuffPost Life. Before that, I was the lead reporter at Ladders where I covered the U.S. workforce, management trends, career anxieties and the future of work through daily news stories, career advice and explainers, and profiles. 

At home, I think about feelings, race, diaspora, and how tech disguises human choices as defaults. My writing has appeared in Quartz, Fusion, Slate, Real Life Magazine and The Hairpin. My background: I am a graduate of NYU's Studio 20: New Media and Digital Innovation program, I'm a member of Poynter's Diversity in Digital Leadership inaugural class, and I am Williams College's 2013 Jones Fellowship in Journalism recipient.
